Work with me

My story

Starting again
at 36.

I share this because I needed to hear stories like mine when I was in the thick of it.

I thought I’d missed it.

I separated from my first husband when I was 36. I longed to become a mother, and we wanted different things from our lives. Walking away was a strange combination of heartbreak and relief.

For a while, I felt completely lost. Friends were having babies, and I was starting again. I wondered whether I’d missed my chance at a life partner, a family and the life I had imagined.

I had absorbed the idea that life was supposed to happen according to a certain timeline. Letting go of that took time.

Holding the dream.
Loving today.

I was teaching yoga, moving my body, dating, opening my heart and breaking it again. Slowly, I learned to come back to the life that was actually in front of me.

I still dreamed. I still held onto hope. But there was joy and meaning available to me right then, too. Savouring the life I already had became a daily practice.

A silhouetted figure with arms raised against a golden sunset.
Yoga, sunsets and finding my feet again.

The chapter I couldn’t see yet

Then I got on
a plane to Bali.

I decided, at the last minute, to attend a yoga training. I wasn’t getting on that plane thinking I was about to meet the man I’d build a family with.

And there he was. Craig.

We aligned in the ways that mattered to me. Meeting him brought my longing for a family back, and the story I thought might already be over began to look very different.

Why I share

A story can make
us feel less alone.

I hear from women who are starting over, waiting, or feeling as though everyone else has moved ahead. I know that feeling.

I can’t tell another woman exactly how her story will unfold. I can tell her how mine did.

Yoga was my world through my 30s. When I became a mom, that shifted into women's circles, where I spent years holding space for other women, and then Human Design. Now I bring all of that into my writing, my podcast and my mentoring.
