Motherhood after 40

From trying to conceive
to raising little ones after 40.

Whether you're trying to conceive, pregnant or finding your feet as a mom, this is where I share what it's really been like for me.

01 · Trying to conceive

Holding hope
in the waiting.

I know what it's like to want a baby so badly and not know if it's ever going to happen. The waiting can make it feel like your whole life is on hold.

I'm not a doctor and I can't promise you anything. But I can share my story, what helped me through it, and what I'd want you to know if you're in the middle of it right now.

02 · Pregnancy later in life

More than
a label.

A moment from my pregnancy in 2020.

I've always taken good care of myself, so when we started trying for a baby, I sought out practitioners I trusted. I leaned towards holistic support, but I also saw an OB-GYN and a naturopath, and had tests done to check my hormone levels.

What I didn't buy into was the "geriatric pregnancy" label. I knew I was fit and healthy, and so was my husband.

My pregnancies at 41 and 45 are simply my story. Every woman is different, and yours won't look exactly like mine. Trust your body, your intuition, and the people who really know you and care about you.

03 · Mothering after 40

Finding a rhythm
that feels like us.

I came to motherhood knowing myself more deeply than I did in my twenties. That doesn't mean I have it all figured out.

I don't know what it's like to be a mom in your 20s or 30s. I can only share what I know from here. Six years in, almost 50, with two young kids, what I've learned so far is that women are so much more capable than we're told. Being a mom after 40 comes with a stigma, but we don't have to be conditioned by it.

If anything, it's made me take my health more seriously. I truly want to look after myself, so I eat well, move my body, and make my health a priority.

I share my life as a mom after 40 in real time on Instagram. I'd love for you to come and follow along.
